Hi everyone. I haven't had time to ponder a Top 10 List but I do know that
my favourite pick for 1999 is "Heavy Mellow" by 54-40. It's a double live
CD covering their whole career. One CD is more "heavy" and rocking stuff
while the second CD is more mellow and laid-back stuff. Every single cut on
this CD is great. You can check it out for yourself at www.5440.com with
full-length RealAudio tracks. I especially like "She La," "Ocean Pearl,"
"Nice To Love You," "Lies To Me," "Baby Ran," "Love You All," "Since When,"
"Radio Love Song" and "I Go Blind." Their last album "Since When" just went
platinum in Canada a few months ago.
Like Trish I also highly recommend Thrush Hermit. It's really sad
that they're disbanding but I know health problems are a consideration.
Other Canadian bands I really like are Sloan, Blue Rodeo, Tragically Hip,
The Flashing Lights, The Odds and treblecharger.
